Preparing for the PANCE®

What the exam is

The PANCE® is a 300-question, multiple-choice examination administered by the NCCPA®, delivered in five blocks of 60 with 60 minutes for each block. It is organised along two axes at once: organ systems, which carry the content weight, and task areas — history taking and physical examination, diagnostic studies, diagnosis, health maintenance, clinical intervention, pharmaceutical therapeutics, and applying scientific concepts.

That second axis is the one students underestimate. Knowing a disease is not the same as being asked, about that disease, which diagnostic study to order next. Season One's lessons close on the task-area framing deliberately: each one ends on what an item writer reaches for and the wording a question uses when it tests it.

What ships today

950 conditions, each placed against the blueprint area it belongs to, so practice can be filtered to the organ system you are weakest in rather than shuffled at random.

1,900 board-style questions, every one carrying a written rationale — including why each wrong option is wrong, which is usually where the learning actually is.

883 lessons at full depth: mechanism, risk factors, laboratory findings, published diagnostic criteria where they exist, a treatment plan with its lines named, the conditions it is most often confused with, and a closing High Yield PANCE® page. The remaining 67 are shorter and are being rewritten section by section. The blueprint page shows exactly which task areas are finished and which are not — the numbers there are generated from the app, not typed.

It works with no signal

Everything above is on the device. The whole library, the whole question bank, the medication reference. No loading spinner in a hospital basement, on a plane, on a shuttle between sites, or in a rural clinic with one bar of service.

This is the single most common reason students tell us they switched, and it is not a feature that can be retrofitted — it is a decision about where the content lives.

Your data stays yours

Answers, scores, notes and highlights live on your device and sync through your own iCloud account to your other devices. We cannot read them. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

What we are not claiming

These are not retired or leaked examination items. Nobody at Season One has access to live PANCE® content, and nobody outside the NCCPA® does. Our questions are written against the published blueprint by a PA student sitting the same exam.
